To start of the New Year, here is a poem from our 2017 Floating Bridge Chapbook Award winning poet Katy E. Ellis from her chapbook Night Watch.

Birth

We have a due date.

We cast a moon in clay from the shape of my globe belly.

We have a birth date.

We paint this bowl the color of our daughter’s eyes.

We are joined at the hip by a new light, a new shape.
