On the ten-year anniversary of the chapbook “This City,” Floating Bridge Press is proud to release “Esta Ciudad,” a special bilingual edition of “This City” by Claudia Castro Luna. With new poems, revisions, and translations by Castro Luna herself, this newly redesigned book holds a unique place in our catalog by bridging languages and communities.
Claudia Castro Luna is an award-winning poet and writer, an Academy of American Poets Poet Laureate fellow (2019-2020), WA State Poet Laureate (2018–2021), and Seattle’s inaugural Civic Poet (2015-2018). She is the author of Green the World, One River, A Thousand Voices, Cipota Under the Moon, and Killing Marías. The latter two titles were shortlisted for the WA State Book Award in poetry, 2023 and 2018 respectively. Castro Luna is also the author of the chapbook This City. Castro Luna’s most recent prose is The Flowers Along the Way, a memoir. Born in El Salvador, Castro Luna lives in English and Spanish and writes and teaches in the Seattle Metro area on unceded Duwamish lands. Claudia Castro Luna es una poeta y escritora galardonada, becada del programa “Poets Laureate” de la Academy of American Poets (2019-2020). Es también Poeta Laureada del estado de Washington (2018-2021) y la primera Poeta Cívica de Seattle (2015-2018). Sus poemarios incluyen: Green the World, One River, A Thousand Voices, Cipota Under the Moon y Killing Marías. Estos dos últimos títulos fueron finalistas del premio WA State Book Award de poesía en el 2023 y el 2018 respectivamente. Castro Luna también es autora del poemario breve This City.
